What does it mean to you?
Our purpose for making the transition to paperless records is two-fold. First, our company is always looking for ways to streamline the claims process. In the past few years, we have made significant investments in hardware upgrades, software improvements and review of processes. So, effective July 1, 2010, all paperwork will be scanned. By scanning paperwork, we move toward a paperless environment. In fact, our Kingston office alone handles in excess of 50,000 pages a month. That’s equivalent to ten cases of paper a month, every month! Our ten cases, according to the Technical Association for Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) and the American Forest and Paper Association, are equivalent to saving 6.5 trees a month. Saving these ten cases (and 6.5 trees) is just the beginning of our office’s commitment to enacting Green Energy Solutions, which is only a part of our overall double goal of streamlining efficiency and becoming as eco-friendly as possible.
Furthermore, the search capability of the system, gives us immediate access to all scanned information. This will speed up the process, and in turn, your claims will move faster, cleaner and more economically through the insurance claims labyrinth. All documents are at our fingertips within minutes for review, re-file and refunds. This will improve or shorten the payment cycle, which means one of the things we are all interested in, FASTER PAYMENTS!
